My son, Andy, who is developmentally disabled, absolutely loves riding his bike, just like his dad!!
Here are some pics of him riding on the Cherry Creek Trail this morning. He rides about 3 miles, while I walk with him. He absolutely and totally relaxes and smiles the whole time.
I also wanted to try out my matchbook size StyleCom Snap Digital Camera and see how it shows. It is exactly 2 inches (5.08 cm) x 2 inches (5.08 cm) by 1/2 inch (1.27 cm). I carry it around my neck on a lanyard.
Andy knows what's fun! Great pix!!! :)

Neat pictures from such a small camera. Tell us about it. He looks like he is enjoying the ride.

If you get him a recumbent trike he might be fast enough to join your bike rides :)

Sorry, Andy needs me walking besides him as a safety factor. I would love to be able to do that, but it is not appropriate for him.
Neat! What kind of Trike is that? Looks a little like an old Schwinn Town and Country.
Can you bring him on a tandem?
If that is a little too risky, I bet that you and a buddy with a couple of old bikes and a welder could make a tandem tricycle.
Keep us posted.
Go Greenspeed recumbent tandem.
Ian Sims, the creator of Greenspeeds, has spent a bit of time with disabled people riding a trike. I remember a picture he used during a presentation evening here back in April. The person on the back couldn't pedal for one reason or another, but the enjoyment was pure and unbridled. I'd attach the pricture, but I'm not sure Ian would approve.

Actually, things are going great just the way we have it set up, but I do appreciate all the suggestions.
He can pedal just fine, and he greatly enjoys the challenge of pedaling his 3 wheeler up a hill BY HIMSELF - that is the fun for him - HE has control, not I.
He can go as fast or as slow as he wants, he can use the foot and hand brake when he wants. It is a matter of his doing, not being done to, as it is for all of us.

Denver, loved the pictures of Andy and his three wheeler. It is great that he is able to ride on his own and has such a great place to ride. He is also lucky to have such a wonderful Dad.
