This is one reason why I find it dangerous to hang out on BF too much. I tend to have a lot less money. Many, many, more "essentials"... but less money.

Got a link? Amazon is currently listing it for $269 and no mention of a rebate. That would be an awesome deal.

Nothing special here, this has been the price for a few months now ... look at all the previous garmin threads, same prices being thrown around

The Garmin 350 is being clearanced from target right now for about 249.00 you need to check
the stock of the store. This is the model that includes the sd card. The new one has no sd card
the info is in the comp already.

Its only 4" x 3" lol . I use a state map , cheaper and easier to start a fire in a jiff if needed.
Maybe someday when Garmin and the others get the system really working good , and fred
friendly I might get one.

dang...

it's almost getting to where i should order that and return the one i bought for $254.99 (shipped)

or i just need to stop watching this thread...

EDIT: least expensive shipping option = $10.30, so make that geoman price $247.30 shipped...

EDIT #2: oh yes, and of course, there is the sales tax one must declare on such purchases... :D

Was it with HR and cadence? If so, that's the cheapest Ive seen, and Ive been shopping. I hate to shop at Wal Mart but at the time I was looking, they were cheaper than everybody. Beat my LBS by over 150 bux. My BS owner says he pays Trek 300 per unit. I says he's gettin' screwed.

How accurate is the calorie data on the Garmin? I can't decide whether to swap my Polar CS200 for a CS400 for a Garmin 305. I do just a few regular routes so I'm not sure how useful the GPS info would be. I like the HR features of the Polars.

I have been using Garmin GPSs for a while. First the 201 - great screen, not such a great procesor. Now I have the 305 - very nice unit. The procesor is a lot fster and the reception is great. The screen is admittedly smaller than the old unit.

Yes - one does nooe dto by the cadence sensor separately. I have been looking at them on ebay ;).

Yes, the screens are completely configurable. You can select how many parameters you want per screen and which ones to display.

How accurate is the calorie data on the Garmin?
i've never used my polar F6 and Garmin 305 at the same time, but i entered the totals from my ride today and the total calorie burn on my Garmin was much higher than on Buckeye Outdoors. then again, who's to say how accurate Buckeye Outdoors is, since they use a formula to figure out calories burned based on your distance ridden. my totals from today were:

30.35 miles
16.8 average
2128 calories burned (Garmin)
1624 calories burned (Buckeye Outdoors)

almost a 500 calorie difference is a big difference...

How useful is the 305 in mapping where you are going? Is it pretty much a squiggly line on a blank screen between waypoints or are there any street directions on it? (I can see the downloading to the PC to be valuable, esp. combined with mapmyride.com or one of the other websites)

It's a GPS but it isn't meant to be a "navigator". I pretty much ignore the mapping screen while riding. May be I'll look at it if I ever get lost riding a new route.

Robobo1,

Yes it will. You can display up to 8 data items on one screen. You choose what displays and where.

BTW, our price at $237 is for either the Edge 305 with CAD or HR. The 305 Bundle (HR + CAD) is $269. Shipping generally runs around $8.

Thanks for your mention on this thread! We appreciate it very much.

Just got my unit from GeoMan. I must say this is some of the best service I've gotten from an online store in a long time. He was QUICK to reply to my email inquiry... within a few hours I believe... and he even followed up (unprompted) the next day! My order (Garmin Edge 305 plus HR and cadence) was delivered on time.

Thanks GeoMan!
