Hey all,

I'm heading to ireland in august. We plan on flying into Shannon. the question is where to go should we head up north from shannon or should we head down to the Kelly region. Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks

Ive toured around Connemara, The Burren and SW Cork. Can recommend all three.
I would avoid the Ring of Kerry during high season, its a small road full of tourist coaches, but there are some good roads across the mountains. My fav peninsular is Beara, and dont forget to check out the Arren Isles.

West coast!!!

I really enjoyed the rural west coast of Ireland. The Ring of Kerry is truly awesome. I didn't get to tour the Dingle Penisula, but if I ever get back, that's tops on my list! :)

Dingle is great- especially the Connor pass and points west- if you like climbing :) Same caveats apply about the tourist season in Cork and other parts of Kerry. Last I heard, north from Shannon was still a little quieter than south.

have a good trip

Oh, I forgot the most important rule........

never have a Guinness with your lunch, only at the end of your ride!!!!!!!!!
