Hi,

I'm thinking about buying one, but wanted to nix the ugly stickers. Are they easily removable?

best,

NO,not easy but I have a product called "Lift-OFF",it's specifically formulated to do that on cars for example, the best stuff I ever used.I sold automotive chems. for many years.I'll dig-it-up and PM you with imfo.,gettin' it,parent company etc.

If the Sputnik is anything like the Jamis I had, then the issue isn't with the fact that the stickers are stuck on there, but the fact that they're under the clearcoat, thus negating the use of chemicals. (unless of course you don't want clearcoat on your bike either)

If the clearcoat is matte and reasonably thin, you can peel the stickers off and do thin coats of clearcoat to get a good blend of finish. If it is glossy, you will see the paint imperfections too easily.

If you mess up, it is fantastic motivation to knock the frame down and get it blasted and powdercoated. A win-win situation.
