This bill has passed the senate and now moves to the house:

The previous rule only stated a vehicle had to pass a bike at a safe distance. This defines a safe distance as 3 feet for non-commercial and 6 feet for commercial, also if there are two lanes avaiable the vehicle MUST change into the other lane to execute the pass. As a last minute revision, bikes at night are now required to have a blinking red tail light a reflector will no longer suffice. If the bill passes the house as it reads.

go to Chapter 551. Note this is State law and cities and counties may place further restrictions. It does state bikes have all rights of vehicles, you can turn from the left lane, two riders may ride abreast (if they do not impeade traffic) no clarification of what that means.
