:crash:<-----PS2

Unfortunately I'm related to the brat. The was draged from his playstation2 and the child took his anger out by kicking the closest thing to him once they got out of the door, which happened to be one of my bikes.
   The damage this kid did is as follows: broke enough spokes, that I"ll have to redish the wheel, the hanger is broken, the deraillieur (Sram X.9) was broken in 3, the lower gears on the cassette, bent in, freewheel is messed up, wasn't able to save it. The cost $150-$200 range. If his parents don't pay for the replacement parts, the kid will not get his ps2 back.

I'd make the little brat work it off. That or E-bay his PS2 & games. That kind of crap is NOT to be tolerated.

Ouch! How many times did this kid kick the bike? That's a LOT of damage and I agree that not only should he be punished but some special arrangements need to be taken to instill upon him respect for other people's property. The parents need to reimburse you for the expenses and they should dock the kid's allowance or make him work it off.

What on earth would possess someone to raise a child who thinks it is appropriate to kick others property when they are angry? The parents should reimburse you fully (with the kid doing chores for the parents to work off his end) as well as have the child apologise and ground him from PlayStation 2 for at a month (and yeah, I think they should put him on a soccer team too)!

Danka,

How old is this kid? Sure he didn't take a sledgehammer to it when you guys weren't looking? I think I might have trouble causing all of the damage just by giving it one kick.

Wow, what a wretched child. Too bad there aren't any salt mines close to you.

It was three kicks. I've cooled down now somewhat. The bike is now repaired, the spokes were broken down by the hub. Good news is that I got the rear hub to work correctly again.

Make sure that he's watching when you smash his playstation :D

I hope the kid was made to take responsibility. Otherwise, your bike may be OK, but the State Pen can expect another occupant in 11 years.

Work on the games discs first. Crush them slowly in front of him. Then take a 5lb hammer and rip the guts out of his PS2. Nice brat you got there danka.

We were at a restaurant one evening with the outlaws and their brat was a pain in the a$$ and kept screaming and kicking me. He left the table and ran around the restaturant. His father chased after him and as the brat ran, he slipped and fell head first into the back of a chair, you know the ones with the wide gaps between the back rest supports. He got his head well and truly wedged and everyone shrieked in laughter and they had to take brat and chair to hospital. Sad thing is, we were left paying the bill....

I work with kids like that only slightly older and at a locked residential facility. I have seen EVERYTHING. Unless they are chemically off balance it is 99.9% parents fault. Good luck with the parents as well.

Your bike isnt strong

Dannihilator

This 7 year old is not a light weight, the kid has to be almost 160 pounds by now. I build my bikes up. I build them up stronger than others. The kicks were to the driverain side, which is usually the weaker side. This bike is a race bike, it has to be strong.

Kick the deraileur and spokes the right way and any bike can be easily damaged. Those parts are designed to be tough in a very linear way (especially wheel strength)...

Ok Danka, explain this "thumb" movement" required.
Is it 90 degrees to the trigger? Or am I misinformed?

Scoob

PS glad you're bike is functional, I would be mortified if it either happpend to me, or one of my brood caused that to someone!

danka....if he is 7 y.o. and 160 i'd see him in the national enquirer because he'd be the hugest, imbalanced FREAK ever. now settle down francis....and tell us what really happened.

Wow. Think of all those trail hazards that danka trained over and mastered to avoid damaging his bike and then look at what finally took it out... Hulk, Jr.

You cannot prepare for some things I guess....

That is exactly what happened, said about 160, the kid doesn't do 1 thing that is physical at all.

His kicking sounds pretty physical.:D

Dannihilator

If a person can walk a person can kick. What I mean is that anything that require physical strength over a longer period of time. 3 Kicks aren't over a long period of time.
