I've been tooling around on Bike Forums for the last week and decided it was about time I said hello. I'm a business student at the University of Miami and I just finished my junior year. I lived in Florida all my life and started biking about 2 years ago. I fell in love with distance events this year and did 4 century events.

I found an internship in LA for the summer and can't wait to start biking in my free time. Though I must admit, I feel a bit like a fish out of water here, or more appropriately, like a Floridian on a hill... (I mean seriously what are those things anyway? I've never seen anything like them before).

I'm staying in Burbank and am looking for a fun group of guys and girls to ride with. If anyone has any suggestions for local clubs and bike shops please let me know. I look forward to hearing from everyone and hope I meet some of you out on the roads.

I hope you're single. The women here will be on you like a woman on a Floridian.

Welcome!

Sounds like I found the right place to hang out! My bike arrives today and I can't wait to show her around. I looked up SFVBC and they sound like a great group of people. I'm hoping to join their 30 mile Saturday ride. Look for my University of Miami jersey and please introduce yourself if you are out there too.

The SFVBC riders are a great group for sure. You'll have fun, Mike. :)

I ride out of Burbank if you’re interested in joining in PM me. BTW: We call them rollers and rollers turn into hills. Hills and more hills and more climbing and more. Then you find your self at home where you shower and NAP.

I will be riding with the SFVBC on Sunday maybe you can make that one too.

If you really want to get over your fear of climbing come ride with me. There are hills and then there are mountains. I prefer the latter.

Did you just ask him to come climb with you? I think I've heard that line before. ;)
