Like the title says...12:10pm EST start.

Hincapie is afraid he'll break a nail, and apparently, he's scared:

"It's a terrible course. It's the most dangerous thing they could do. Maybe there are two kilometers that are flat - the rest is just up and down," said Discovery Channel's George Hincapie.

"With nine guys, it will be hard to keep it together. It's crazy. We rode it three times. It's super windy. It's really scary. I don't get scared much on the bike, but riding around yesterday on the course, it was really scary."

McEwen says get on with it and gives advice to Hincapie...

"It depends on how you race it," McEwen said. "It's like anything - you have to stay upright on the bike."

Is cycling.tv showing the Giro? or the OLN/versus/whatever channel?

Cycling.tv is showing it for versus/oln. Versus is only doing it on tv on sundays (I assume it's highlights) and the live showing they're partnering with cycling.tv. That COMPLETELY sucks because it means after paying for cable to get versus, you now have to pay extra for a live viewing of the giro (and online not on the tv).

Don't know if it will work this year but last year I streamed the video on the La Gazzetta (sp?) site, muted it and streamed the audio from Eurosport. It wasn't 1200KB or anything but it worked. I will check it out before plunking down $$ on the cycling.tv/vrs deal.

cyclingfans.com gives a good summary of all the possible ways to see races. They don't get links up until races have started sometimes but I have gotten some good leads for catching races free onlinein the past.

If I have to I will pony up the money to cycling.tv/vrs. I just hate having to pay them twice. Sticks in my craw.
