Vehicular Cycling (VC) - What is VC?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I wonder how long it will take before people realize you have nothing to contribute here. For that matter, how long will it be before you realize it?
I must say, I rather enjoy Pete's writing, although I may not agree with the tone much.... it is entertaining nonetheless. - although not quite as entertaining as the musings of his nemesis...

For countless reasons, some writers use pen names and wish to have them not associated with their real name/identity. Decent people who are aware of the association respect such wishes.
When did you become aware of this association? You don't exactly have a clean record on this issue of privacy, do you Helmet Head? I can think of more than one time you took great joy in using personal names on this Forum rather than given pen names, long before your pal John Forester did the same here. Same "indecent" behavior has been displayed by that paragon of VC decency Mr. Steve G. too.

This is really cracking me up.
You're clinging to this concept that his privacy was violated or that he was "outed" when he was the one who made his photo public and "outed" himself.
p.s. I posted the picture because Serge demanded that someone define their terms. So I defined mine...
Tis a shame you don't get the concept of manners. We agree on a lot of things Pete, but this ain't one of them.

Isn't VC an excuse for cyclists to break the law ... thus making all cyclists look bad in the eyes of drivers .... thus making cycling more dangerous for those of us who prefer to obey the law?
Maybe I'm wrong, but from the bits I've read about it, that's my impression of it. And people wonder (in other threads) why more women don't advocate that sort of behaviour.
That's one of my problems with the brand of vc that is peddled here. One the one hand they worship following the rules of the road, but on the other they don't consider the laws as rules of the road unless the are convenient.

True dat. I don't remember if it was HH or someone else who 'outted' you the first time to me, back when you and I hadn't learned how to get along. I can't say that I am all tore up at HH getting a dose of his own medicine, but no matter who the offender or the offendee is, it's just bad manners.

Do you realize how your pathetic whines and feeble attempts at jabs make you appear to be incredibly fragile and dimwitted at the same time?
The fact that you are struggling so much is pretty sad.
You're right...I'm so sad!!!
I'm sorry, Pete!
(Gonna whine to the mods, Petey-mo?)

I certainly understand manners. I don't see their application in this situation though.
Apparently there are people who are pretty uptight about posting public pictures on a public website. It's a distinction that is nonsensical to me.
What is nonsensical to me is why someone would get so upset at some bozo on an internet forum that they would take the time to bother searching out such things in some juvenile attempt to accomplish a little embarassment or whatever their goal is. Or maybe you just have some sick crush on him, maybe want to boil his wabbit or something? Go ahead, get your last word in now...just like HH would.

I believe it was a poster who called himself Serge at the time.

I guess I missed something that happened here. And now you roused my curiosity and I just had to go and see what he looks like. It ruins everything, kind of like how movies ruin books.
Why would I whine to the mods? I've never whined to any mods, anywhere in the past and you are making me laugh, not upsetting me.
That is true. Pete is much better known on the other side of that equation.
