View Full Version : NYC shops that carry woolen jerseys?
I'm curious about trying a woolen jersey, having heard so many great things about them, but i'm concerned that they will be too prickly for me (yeah, i'm a wuss)...
Are there any shops in NY that sell woolen jerseys, so i could see and try what i'm buying first?
Thanks,

I know Paragon has a decent selection of jerseys, not sure if any are wool though. You might call ahead...the only other shop that I'd think has enough stock for wool to be a possibility is Sid's.
but, I don't live in the city, so..;)

Not a jersey, but I picked up some wool blend wicking tees awhile back and they are great. Don't stink like the polypropalene ones.

If it doesn't have to be a cycling jersey, EMS has some Icebreaker and Smartwool jerseys.

I'm old enough and have been riding long enough to remember woolen jerseys. All I can say is don't bother. These were meant to be torture devices that would separate the real riders from everyone else.

Thanks. I went there today and tried on one of their wool jerseys. They didn't have many kinds, just black ones with the shop logo and some much more expensive 'Bianchi' ones.
Anyway, it was actually very comfortable. I was tempted to buy it on the spot but I wasn't sure about the giant orange shop logo across the front. It was $100, same as the ones Portland Cyclewear sells online for $71, but they are all sold out there.

I saw 3 different guys wearing the replica Molteni jersery in a 3 hour span in and around NYC on Saturday. You might want to skip that one.. :D
