Southern California - Need help with a new logo

I am in the process of adopting a new logo for my company and have found an image that I want to use. Unfortunately, it already belongs to another company in a totally unrelated field. What I'm looking for is someone who can "tweak" the artwork to make it similar, yet different from the originial....so I don't get in trouble! :D I would love to put my new logo on cycling jerseys, t-shirts, hats, and whatever for promotional purposes. Are there any creative types out there that might be interested in such an endeavor? PM if you are or have suggestions....thanks!

James is probably the best but he's probably having too much fun at the moment. Rose & I have Corel (graphics program) for our laser engraver so we might be able to tweak it depending on what you have in mind....we're not artists or anything but the app is pretty easy.

This is the original artwork that I took it from. The swirl is the thing that I need to have altered a bit so that I am not violating someone's copyright.

Did you finally have the logo designed? Otherwise, I might have one for you...
