Looking for some new routes to add to my routine in the Mukilteo/Everett area. I've done the Muk to Snohomish trip so many time I can do it blind-folded. Also have ridden to Monroe, on the C Trail, and some riding on Whidbey Island. I'd like to find some more routes in the 50-70 mile range - hills, flats it's all good (I'm getting used to them riding on the Blvd all the time.)
So, if anyone in the area has any favorites they'd like to share, I would appreciate it.

You might find some ideas at the Seattle Bicycle Touring Club's site, specifically http://www.seattlebiketours.org/members/library.html
Take a look for trips out toward Granite Falls, or that head into the Duvall area, to bump your mileage up.
For variety on the road to Snohomish, if you go over the Hwy 2 bridge, and south on Homeacres Road, there are several different ways to go over or around Fobes Hill.

Thanks Moleman, found a route up and around the hill by taking a left just after the bridge off of Ebey Island. Quite a nice long hill to get a work-out on. Also, took a left just after the Hiway 2 bridge and worked my way over to Lake Stevens. That first 'little' hill out of the valley is a gut buster, but I managed to make it all the way to the C Trail and looped around south again.
I hear there's a nice loop up around Lake Roesiger that's nice as well.

I am training for the Flowing Lake Triathlon. The route around thge lake is about 14 miles. FRom centenial trail you go up three lakes road and there is a 500 foot climb to get to the loop. It is a pretty ride and intermittent climbs. Check my web page for the route.
Or search budu and flowing lake.

Lake Roesenger is a great ride if you like hills. I do a ride from Everett to Snohomish then to Roesinger up to Granit falls out Jordan road to Arlington the the Centenial to L Stevens up over the hill and back to Everett 72 Miles, lots of hills. PM me I can dig up the route and send it to you.

Here's a good long route from Lake Stevens/Hwy 9 out to Sultan and back on some back roads. It's relatively flat but with a few hills mixed in on Ben Howard Road: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1103834. On the return trip when you get to Monroe, there's a route called "Highbridge" that takes you south of the Snohomish Valley, but eventually drops you off there again right at Hwy 9. It's got some hills and climbs to tackle though. Nothing too strenuous as I recall, but there are a number of them.
Other than that, you can mix in the C-Trail with the Lake Roesiger loop by heading out toward the lake on OK Mill Road (aka Carpenter Road), going clockwise around the lake, returning West on Dubuque, left on 171st, and then enjoy the long ride down Three Lakes Road. That drops you back off in Snohomish right on the C-Trail. The loop itself isn't terribly long, but at least provides some scenic variety and allows you to pad the mileage.

How do you like riding on Jordan Road? I've thought about that many times and although it "technically" has only a 35mph speed limit, that doesn't mean much on roads like that - especially with no shoulder to bail out on if necessary. Is it generally alright when riding solo, or do you prefer to ride with 2+ other riders?

Jordan rd is one of my favorite roads to ride. I have done the ride solo and with a couple of other riders and have had very little trouble with cars. Though I try to ride it on Sunday mornings when traffic is very light. Most drivers don't drivers don't drive too fast down it.The only time I really get concerned is from the Jordan bridge to the park (can't remember the name of it) when the kids are getting ready to do their tube runs down the river.
edit: I do an Eveerett Monroe loop that includes Highbridge rd. Another of my favorite roads to ride. I think I might check out your Lake Stevens Sultan ride.

Thanks. I'll have to look into that some time. Every time I drive it I wish I had my camera with me, too. I'll have to remember to bring it.

I've done the Lake Roesiger route a few times - I usually continue on Woods Creek road to Monroe then to Snohomish via the Old Monroe Hiway. For some reason I always seem to get a nice tailwind going up that slight grade out of Monroe.
I like the Highbridge road also, the hills aren't too bad. If you start at Hiway 9 you do have to contend with the hill the starts on the underpass of 522. I've read that somewhere there's a guy in a truck that isn't too friendly, but I haven't encountered that yet.
Next on my list is either the back road to Sultan or the Granite Falls loop.

Do you know if there's a way to continue on past Sultan and loop around north of H2?
