I went on a ride the other day and i got a little bit of tar on my back wheel, i am not even sure how. I was wondering how to get it off. Also, what is a good tire to buy thats not too expensive. The ones I have now stick to some roads pretty bad.

What kind of bike, how you ride and size would really help.

Hey sorry about not telling details. I have a road bike. The tires are 700 by 20, and the tires i have are good for driving in the rain, but on a nice day they usually stick to most road surfaces. right now i have michelin axial bi-sport tires.

What sort of pressure do you run? How hot does it get (air and road surface)?

Not a bad basic (yet lightweight) tire. I've got 'em on my road bike and I like them.

www.mec.ca has them if you're a member otherwise hit the LBS.

I'm a fan of Vredestein tires. Check out the Tri-Comps.

Thanks for the advice. I put 110 psi in my tires. It doesn't get much hotter than 30 C on average. Right now its about 20 C. in F thats about 80 .

I am using Michelin Megamiums and I really like them so far. I have about 600 k on them so far and no problems at all.

With those kind of conditions I wouldn't expect the tyre to be going tacky & it seems like you're treating them right.

Anyway, I'm using Hutchinson Reflex Gold - nice and lightweight, smooth tread (doesn't collect stones, grit, glass etc and you don't need tread on bike tyres anyway) and they corner really fast (faster than I've the nerve for).
