And to avoid being obtuse or a little underhanded I'll make this statement.
I saw the officer before any of this happened. And I was fully aware that it *might* happen. I can not honestly say that I did not embellish the situation some. Now I'm not saying I purposely tried to run into the SUV, but knowing that the cop was behind me I may have subconciously tried to "teach this guy a lesson if he tries something stupid". Of course I never actually thought of doing it. I'm just saying that sometimes our emotions (and this thread is about emotions) cause us to do things that we would not knowingly do if we are in full thought about the situation.
Ahhh.

Ahhh.
Of course I also could have been fishing just to see the response I would get from you.

I try to ignore my opinions, since I never know when someone I disagree with will throw out something I can use. Sometimes little tidbits reveal themselves hidden in the middle of an argument.

Hi y'all. I'm visiting San Diego right now. On my way down here, I accidentally got on the wrong freeway, so I took La Jolla Village Drive to get back to the right freeway. I had hoped I could witness HH riding his bike in the center of the lane on my way as a bonus! Alas, I didn't see him.

I have only seen a few cyclists so far during my few hours here. Not one of them is taking the lane anywhere. Not a lot of bike lanes here, either.

Anyway, it seems that the strength of one's zealous VC advocacy hasn't made much of a dent in increasing cycling or in changing the default lane position of cyclists as a whole. Don't blame any of them, though, the traffic seems a tad aggressive here. I think we can surmise that the status quo isn't going to change without infrastructure changes.

By the way, I haven't been here in almost 20 years. North county used to be so pretty. It looks ugly from the freeway now. San Diego still seems as nice as it ever was. I could live here again if it came to that.
