Hi,

I'm visiting Cleveland, Ohio, next week, and I'd like to find some folks to ride with during my stay. The catch is that I'm not bringing my bike with me, so I'd either need to rent a bike or borrow one. I'll be in the downtown area from Tuesday morning until early Sunday morning. Any suggestions for places to ride and to rent a bike are welcome. Thanks.

What kind of riding are you looking for? The cleveland area has anything from an old canal towpath, to steep hill climbs in and out of a valley. Century cycles in Peninsula rents bikes, they are right on the towpath trail.

The cleveland metroparks are nice. Have multi use path or roads.

I could meet you for an evening ride or on saturday. Might have a bike to fit also.

Hi half-bent,

I'm probably not ready for the hill climbs yet. :-) Also, I won't have a car with me for the visit. But I'd be happy to meet you for a ride provided I can get to a meeting place. I've been trying to arrange a bike rental with Ohio City Cycles, but they have odd hours and are only open certain days.

I'm in Cleveland, but my average speed is around 22-23mph, so you'll probably be having troubles keeping up with me. But ride in the Rocky River Metroparks, you'll like it, all of the hills aren't on the main road, they're on the sideroads.

Thanks, half_bent, for the ride on Tuesday.

Are you offering to ride or just bragging how fast you can spin?

Perhaps both? As long as it's truth in advertising, it's OK. :-)
