Foo - Darwin contender missed by a whisker

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Satnav driver's car totalled by train (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/05/11/satnav_crash/)
How does one not notice that they're on top of train tracks?
Some scary drivers out there...

If it was dark and there were no signs she shouldn't be considered for the Darwin Award. If it was light out, yes she is an idiot!

I love the dry British humor: "The impact of the Pembroke Dock to Swansea train carried Ceely's Renault Clio for half a mile down the track, and put a pretty dent in her no-claims bonus."

The "DANGER: TRAIN" gates were down and she lifted them up and drove in. Not sure if it's daytime, but I am sure the driver isn't that bright.

I'm wondering why when people buy fancy aftermarket rims for their vehicles, ones that come with anti-theft wheel lock nuts, they decide the best place for the wheel lock key is in their drawer at home.

Better than the glove compartment. Used to see that a lot when I worked in a garage...

If Darwin were truely correct, the world population would cut by at last 60%.... ya think?

Three [Insert Politically incorrect stereotype demographic here] were out hunting when they came across some tracks. The first suggested, "They're very large. They must be bear tracks."
The second suggested, "They're very neatly made, they must be raccoon tracks."
The third was still studying them when all three were hit by the train.

It sounds to me like the navigator didn't do anything wrong. She just wasn't paying attention. If she just stood there and watched it hit her car, she's lucky she didn't get hit by debris.
How long until we see a law suit because somebody's TomTom didn't tell them a light was red?
The Register is pretty lousy as far as a source of news goes. The BBC article has a little more info and a picture of the car:
