A post on the thread about great cover songs reminded me of how all my pets have had a favorite music artist or album they would listen to. In my teens, we had 2 Golden Retrievers. One of them loved the Cowboy Junkies' Trinity Sessions album. She would curl up around the speaker with her eyes closed and ears perked up whenever I played it. Her sister adored my mom's Johnny Mathis Christmas album. Kind of corny, but she was one of those corny, goofball Goldens, so it fit her well. At this time in my life, I have a cat. This Mastermind of Evil can be subdued by playing Air's Moon Safari album. She will fall into a nap, purring with her ears perked up in listening mode. She seems to like electronica in general, but Air is her absolute favorite.

What kind of music soothes your savage (and not so savage) beasts?

Gotta love the Cowboy Junkies. Misguided Angel does it for me big time.

My sooth the beast list is to big too list. Everything from Bach to Bela Fleck. Ironically, mellow music gets me going whereas the heavy stuff usually shuts me down pretty good.

Miles does well to calm anything down.
Dr. Demento's The Singing Dogs version of "Jingle Bells" will send my animals into fits.

My iguana used to LOVE hard and alternative rock. Would go to the closest edge of the couch and bop his head.

HATED Beethoven. He would get all puffy, spikes would stand up on end, then go into the other room. So weird.

My cat will watch B&W movies with me. Anything in color, and he'll swipe at the characters on the screen for a couple of minutes, then get bored and go somewhere else. He really likes The Maltese Falcon and The Big Sleep.

Planning on giving us a link to your page?;) The problem is I record WMA's and soundclick will only accept MP3 files. Once I find an MP3 converter, I'll get that done
