Ok ok, the subject is more in jest than anything else. After hearing everyone talk about this mythic wall up Balcom Caynon, I just had to see it for myself. For the first mile or so I was thinking "I don't know what the big deal deal is, this isn't so bad.". And then I hit the steep part. My garmin showed me 23% at one point, so yeah, it was steep. But it was fun, and the steep part didn't last too long, so on the whole I'd say it was a good climb. Id say about the same difficultly as entering Thousand Oaks through Potrero from Camarillo, maybe a little harder. The steep section is maybe a little steeper but not as long, and the overall climb is much shorter. I'm just going off what it felt like, I have to compare the data between them to see for sure.

What? You didn't do repeats? Dude, get back out there...;) :p Both sides are steep and kick in the pants, but yes it's fun in the painful, why am I doing this, kind of way. :D

Yes, short but steep. 23% is still 23%, no matter how short or long. The downhill is a screamer ... fun :D

I've driven it in my car during a road rallye a year or two ago. Crazy stuff... :D

I don't recall seeing any paved roads off Balcom while I was going up; I had to look at the map to see where it was. Looking at it, plus my recollection, I am pretty sure that it is not paved.
