Limestone Canyon, one of my favorite places, always closes between February 15, - May 15, for raptor nesting. It is reopening this weekend for private tours.

There are 3 rides scheduled in Limestone this weekend. Here are the descriptions:

Explore historic Limestone at night and see the lights of Orange County from above. The ride visits Bolero Springs, located in a densely wooded area and surrounded by mature oaks, that is a nice resting point from the ride. This is a strenuous ride with a total elevation gain of approximately 1,200 feet. Participants must be experienced mountain bike riders with previous night-riding experience, and possess a high level of fitness, and advanced mountain biking skills. I'm one of the docents on the Sunday Family Ride. I haven't been in Limestone since January so have no idea what shape the trail maybe in. No doubt there will be some sand. Also raptors will still be very active in the area. Last year, on the ride up to Bolero Springs, a group of riders were chased across the trail by a mother redtail. Great fun for us docents to watch!!!

If you are interested in any of these rides or any fo the activities offered go to irlrtrust.org, activities and check out all the offerings. If you have any questions about the North County activities I can respond and 3F and JamR should be able to answer the South County questions.
