Seems to be several people viewing but no responses. Maybe they feel suspicious. Here's how it happened.
I contacted the manufacturers to find out if they had a new distributor or local dealer and if I ordered more than one could I get a discount or break on shipping. At that time there was no dealer or distributor, so they said for thisone order I could effectively be the dealer. (hence the discount)
They have since found a Canadian distributor but they are standing by their offer.(they seem like a good bunch of people) If you are interested, ask whatever questions would assure you. I am NOT making any profit, you pay what the manufacturers charge. The unknown is customs, but it is looking like we pay just the GST.

Any frame with a standard rigid rear triangle can be used, no rear suspension, sorry.
Favored bikes are classic steel MTBs, older style stumpjumpers and the like. You can
use Aluminum, though some riders are wary of it as over time it can fatigue. On the
Xtracycle home page they list a complete Xtra based on a Aluminum bike. Carbon
fiber is not a good idea. your comment about a truck is interesting as several riders
have commented that the conversion seems to give them more "presence" on the road.
The rear dropout should be 135mm which is the current standard, older 6 speeds may
well be smaller (mine is ) but if its steel, it can be cold set (bent) to the right dimensions.

That may work nicely with my existing Norco then. I should go look up the gearing and stuff. I can get my hands on several other frames if need be (older touring bikes) but I'm spoiled and want my 21 speeds :)
