I would greatly appreciate any local bike stores recommended in the Montreal (NDG, Westmount, or West Island preferrably) area. Haven't had much luck lately.

Looking for the following:

- salespeople that take the time to go over the bike with you
- test drives
- excellent after sales service
- no pushy sales people with 'holier then thou' attitudes
- relaxing and comfortable atmosphere to buy a bike in

Your input is greatly appreciated! :)

I'm not sure about direction, but there was a bike shop out at 6010 Sherbrooke West called Mc Whinnie Cycle that I went to- a nice, small bike shop with very good service. They had good attitudes and were quick with fixing my bike. They were very knowledgeable, and they actually talked me out of the more expensive purchase I wanted in favor of the cheaper one- not because they were sacrificing quality over price, but because they basically said the part I wanted that was more expensive was the exact same quality of the cheaper one they recommended.

They had the wrong address listed in the grey pages of the english side of the phone book (east instead of west), but it's definitely on the west end of Sherbrooke.

I liked the small-town LBS feel of the shop too.

Give them a try. I went to another bike shop when I was there, and I got that stuck up service attitude. I wouldn't go there again if I was paid to!
