Ride 557a untill it turns into 557 and turn back (557 doesnt have a lane to bike in)

OR

Ride old lake alfred road down into lakel alfred and back.. I dont know what this road is like but I can check it out before the ride and see.

I would like to do this ride saturday sence they are having a crit race in lakeland sunday morning.

I checked out old lake alfred road today,,, That is going to be a nice fun road to ride.. Lots of twist and hills and nice farm lnad to look at!

Looks like a nice ride! We (fiance & I) were out of town all weekend, didn't get back till later in the day Sunday. It looks like the weekend after next is the first chance I'll have to get in a decent ride since I'm headed out again this Thursday.

How did you find such deserted hiways? Looks great!

I do A/C work, and I had a job out there and did a little driving around. There are some nice VERY quiet roads out there.. The road all the pictures are on, we didnt see but 1 car. We were all over the road ha ha. I really want to get a few people out there and have a good ride.. I need to explore more of the roads.. We road 19.5 miles and could of rode alot more.

I have to drive from around New Port Richey all the way down to Pt. Charlotte. All I ever see is 6 or more lanes of I-75, I-275, US 19, and Hwy 41.:( :(

Are you familiar with the UF Citrus Experiment Station in Lake Alfred? If so there is a road (Old Lake Alfred Haines City Rd, I think) that's not bad. About halfway on the left is another cool road that winds way back through the countryside.

I use to drive through Lake alfred alot (before I got into roadbiking), and I know some of the stuff out there. If you ride alot out that way let me know, I would like to meet up with you and learn some of the roads..


And You mentioned the adams barn/lake mattie - 559. I just did that the uther week and enjoyed it. I was hoping it would be longer that it was. Next time i will go the other way on adams bard to lake aflred road

I live in Polk City, so I ride around there alot. I usually get out on the weekends, and a few days during the week after work. My normal "trying to lose weight" ride is about 15 miles around Mt. Olive, SR33, Country Trails, Berkely Rd. But I really like going out past Fantasy of Flight, over I-4, right turn through the Spray Field, Through the back side of LA, back to Adams Barn road, then back over to Berkley. I think it's about 30 miles depending on which way you go. I'd definately be interested in riding with someone as I usually ride solo.
