To cut a long story short, this guys head was ran over by a van, all he got wasa concussion. Helmets are good hmmmkay.
The most ******** thing about this story is that helmet probably wouldn't pass Australian safety standards. One of the tests is dropping a helmet upside down onto a spike, most Giro helmets have a vent right where they get dropped.

lol. I don't think you're being a jerk although I hope you didn't spend as much time compiling that list as it would have taken me.
Everyone knows when an Aussie stacks we do it harder than Americans hopper. Thats why we need tougher standards :p
Well, i do anyway.

thats what happens when we stay in our mountain bike world and never leave
do you mean "hit" by a van? I don't see how a helmet could support the weight of being "run over" by a van.

There's no proof the helmet saved him unless they run over his head again, helmetless this time, to see if injury results.

Damn, lucky the tire didn't run over his neck.

A controlled test. Excellent idea.
Yow! That's part of what made me a full-face desciple back in the days of open-face M/C helmets. Got my head run over when I went down leading a pack on a 60 mph flattrack. Rigidity of the full-face sent me to the ER with what turned out to only be a mild concussion.

Sure, a controlled test. But not using a head fools, just the helmet. Bet it winds up flattened.
Wouldnt the skull reinforce the helmet?
No, i think we need the head.

I bet Giro won't replace that one under warranty.

Giro would be foolish not to milk the **** out of this. New helmet? No problem.

There's no need to have the same thread going in seven different sections. Back when the mods gave a crap they would have been merged.
