Just thought I would point out that keirin culture just put up some enormous NJS frames up in their store. Finally some cool NJS frames that fit me, but they cost 2-3x what the smaller ones do. Spending that much on a frame just seems silly to me. Check 'em out.

Ha ha, you mean Big prices Up On Keirin Culture
At those prices, you may as well get a custom NJS frame.

and yet someone bought your bridgestone for close to those prices...shouldn't complain too much!

I know it sold for a ton, even that 3rensho pursuit only got 800something. If there was an amazing frame up there in my size and a little cheaper (like how much I got for the BS, then I dunno if I could resist.)
its also kinda creepy that you know how much I got for my frame, i know I mentioned it...i figured people would forget.

I'm also selling a similarly-sized bstone, so, yeah, i keep my eye out.

Why must they torment me so? That Bridgestone is exactly what I would like to own, but it's way too expensive to justify buying it. I guess they're doing me a favor by keeping me from making a rash decision and wasting a lot of money on a bike that I have no real use for. ;)

Is there any way that you can order from from here? Trips to Japan aren't cheap.

Uhhh I don't know where you are seeing custom Nagasawas for that cheap. I looked at a couple places and they were 2700+. If you know something I dont, I would love a link.

those prices are obscene. for that much money, just go local, go custom.

I looked through Keirin Culture frames out of curiosity--
I don't know about the frames in question but it seems like
a disproportionate number of the keirin racing frames have
top tube dents--I don't care about the cachet of NJS or
keirin with that kind of damage. Even if a steel frame isn't
likely to fail it still seems like a silly gaijin hand-me-down.

well, keirin racers cant race professionally on frames that have been crashed, its against the rules. a common crash will have the bars swinging around and smacking the top tube, hence the dents, and hence why so many NJS frames have dents. i would never pay good money for a dented frame. that been said, none of the big frames stratton is selling have dents. they're good to go, but overpriced.

well why don't you just build yourself a frame with japanese tubes? oh wait, I already did it so you would just be biting my style. Take it hard Gobalistik.
p.s.
we need to put on a race before I take off for the pro tour.

From that site, i've derived a simple formula for the general cost of a used kerin frame.
$421+ $82 for each additional cm in size over 49.
Ouch, $1300 for the Bridgestone 60cm. That is the biggest keirin frame I have seen for sale, but I would have to pass personally. I bought three vintage steel complete track bikes (Viner, Paramount, and the old Fuji) for less than the price of that frame.

for $1000USD, i will order a brand-new panasonic for someone and send it over. for another $200USD, i will scratch it a bit and give it a storied history. ;)

A lot of those dents also come from storage.
As far as the frames being overpriced goes, that depends entirely on whether or not they sell for what he's asking.

well it looks like you guys should put one on. Also, maybe you shoudl actaully do some work to get other people to come, you could even tell the people at eleventooth and maybe some denver people will show up.
Also, I am pretty sure that I built my frame before you built yours.

2700 is probably the price when you order thru a middle man (ie Yellow Jersey). If you are in japan you can visit his workshop and order direct from him and it's ~140000yen.

Well, the joke's on us - only two remain. Someone's making
a tidy profit.
so any frame that is crashed has to be retired, even if there is absolutely no damage? my reminton is in mint condition, absolutely no dents and not even any scratches. got it for a mere $300! sweeeeeet.
i bought an iro and spent the rest on crack
