Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - running 3/32 ring and 1/8 chain and cog?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. No big deal? does it help with chainline? should I get matching stuff instead?
thanks.

It should work fine
works just fine I've been running this setup for over a year now
I hear it works fine and that it's better than 1/8" chain on a 3/32" cog, because the big round ring does a better job of keeping the chain in line.
totally fine. i've done it before.

Im riding this set up too, and have been riding it without a problem for sometime. Is it a good idea though to switch my ring to an 1/8? for say.. chain life/chain wear? ring ware.. etc?

i was actually wondering which chain lasts longer 1/8 or 3/32?

I would think the 1/8 would last longer as its beefier. Mine actually got noticably quiter with a little phil wood grease.

ring wears quicker if it is a thin one. less surface area on the teeth for wear. If you run an 1/8 chain with a thin cog, it wears MUCH quicker. My bro destroyed a surly cog in 1000 miles that way. When I say destroyed, it was BAD, teeth profile was totally ruined!
