Hi, folks. I recently 'inherited' a 2000 Raleigh SC30, and I'm getting a tad carried away/obsessed by the technical mumbo-jumbo of the bike. www.epinions.com says 'Rear Cogs 7-speed freewheel, 11 - 34 teeth,' but doesn't get anymore specific than that. Worse, the pdf of the owner's manual doesn't, either. Short of getting on my hands & knees and counting the teeth on each of the inner 2-through 6 cogs, how do I determine the size/number of teeth of the inner cogs?
Thank you.

Get on your hands and knees and count the teeth. :p
Actually, most cassettes have the teeth stamped on the side of the cogs. It usually reads 'xxT'. The markings are usually lined up so they go in a line across the gears.

I tried the 'on my knees' approach...couldn'y get my fingers around the cogs...and I didn't see any stamping on the cogs, either.

I tried the 'on my knees' approach...couldn't get my fingers around the cogs. There was a name in the area of the cassette that said 'Mega-Range 7-Speed.'

Apologies for the double-post above. I'd remove the first one if I could.

What inexpensive mods ($50 apiece or so) would folks here do to a stock Raleigh SC30?
Thank you.
