I'd love to join, if it's on a date I'm not out of town. It looks like it opens on June 29th. I leave town on June 30th and don't return until July 6th. But sounds like a great idea, Joy. :)

I saw it on imax when it was up here in San Jose. Pretty cool. Shows relationship between synapses in the brain and racing.

How does the late afternoon of Sunday, JULY 8th sound?

We can invade a nice sushi place on the Westside afterwards.
Or Mexican.... or Italian...

If not a hoe, perhaps a rake? ;)

RAKE:
n 1: a dissolute man in fashionable society [syn: profligate, rip, blood, roue]
2: degree of deviation from a horizontal plane: "the roof had a steep pitch" [syn: pitch, slant]
3: a long-handled tool with a row of teeth at its head; used to move leaves or loosen soil

How about an OC version of this? I have my daughter that day and would love to have something closer. Is it playing at the Irvine Spectrum...is the Imax still there???

So many requests, huh.

merider1

Maybe there can be two. That a way, those of us who live up here don't have to commute to Irvine and those who live in Irvine don't have to commute to downtown.

Would you guys adopt me into your group? We've not been very successful here in the SE at getting organized. I could send a picture that could be photoshopped into your event photos so it looked like I was tagging along having a good ole SoCal time. Please?

I'd love to come. I wouldn't want to break up the group, Always wanted to meet the people from outside of the valley but rarely get to.

July 8th is pretty far out, but I'm interested. Apparently the screening in San Diego has completed and I didn't even know about it. I should pay more attention.

I saw "Wired to Win" at the Fleet last summer, but any excuse for a BF get-together sounds fun! Unfortunately that is the weekend before my daughter's wedding, so I have NO idea what "crisis" will be going on that weekend.

If it's OC, I don't mind joining. If it's the other one... how far is it from SD?

I'm in for the 8th.

Sushi (saki) or Mexican (margs) , both sound fine.

Well, look it, I'VE personally driven to Irvine several times for BF rides/functions -

1. Burrito Century
2. Christmas Party
3. Encinitas Interruptus

Sooooooo....I think you OCers should come north for a change. :D

Not too far, though. From my place (or Dave's place) to Griffith Park was under 1.5 hours in the absence of traffic. Dave, if I'm free, I'll probably go, and I don't mind carpooling.

That sounds awfully slow. There's no way it should take that long early on a weekend morning, not even if you're one for rigidly following the speed limit.

We can all make a close guess... what's the top speed of a 330i? ;) :D

I just checked google again. I made a mistake in the timing estimate. Google shows a 2 hrs drive. I just need to make sure it's not taking me through any shortcuts like Angeles Crests, etc. where I have a high chance of flying off a cliff.

Why not go running in a swimming pool instead?

I don't know how fast that car of his will go, but he kept up with me the last time we left at the same time, and I drive WAY too fast.
