I live in a 25 year old subdivision on the outskirts of Tallahassee, Florida. It is just amazing how much wildlife I see in my yard.

A few months ago a red fox ran across the yard in the middle of the day.
Two deer strolled into the yard while I was painting the back of the house two Saturdays ago. I had the radio on but they ignored me and the radio.
Last Sunday a big ol' momma rabbit built a nest at the base of a pine tree while I worked in the yard. She came within five feet of me on several occasions.
While piling up some branches for recycling I darned near stepped on an oak snake last week.
My next door neighbor called me over to her driveway a couple of weeks ago to see a barred owl sitting in a tree right above us.
This morning, as I went out to get the paper, I disturbed an armadillo that was rooting in my yard.

I can't get over how many different animals are losing their fear of us and are learning to live close to us.

When I lived in Brooksville (halfway between Tampa and Ocala), we had that in abundance too.

Once, when I was a teen, we had a family of deer (3 of them) who came up and "hung out" under our yard light every night for months.

I got a big brown cotton tailed rabbit living in my backyard, Squirrels by the dozens, and a chipmunk that's tunneled throughout my yard. Too many birds to mention, but I will mention the blue heron that keeps stopping at my godfish pond, Very neat and apparently thinks gold fish are quite tasty
I've seen deer eating by the roadside and seen evidence of them in my yard (the eat my tulips every year  ). Opossums try to get in the garbage every once in a while, as do raccoons.
Use to see a red fox trotting along the roadside on occasion, but I haven't seen him in a while.

So yeah. A lot of wild life are learning to live with us.

Our Goldfinches are back as well as our breeding pair of Cardinals. Assorted sparrows, mourning doves, and of course, our squirrels and chipmunks!

In Los Angels. The house backs up the a park, but that park is less than 1/2 mile square and otherwise at least a couple of miles to any space.

Owl, ducks, coons, possums, rabbits. Oh and those d@mn Coyotees

Yeah we get some great wildlife in our yard because we live right near wildlife refuge. Lets see...I see bunnys/rabbits all the time, I see plenty of coyote. I was actually walking to school one day and a pack was right up the street, pretty crazy. I once saw a beaver in my back yard. Multiple times I have seen packs of deer, including one time I saw the male deer with insanely huge antlers. It was pretty incredible one time to see a wild turkey walking through my backyard. Probably the winner of my sightings.

We were in the middle of moving last Sunday and my nephew said "There's a wild turkey walking across the yard". I thought he was just messing with us, but when I walked over and looked, sure enough there was a big ol' wild turkey just strolling across the lawn. Lived there 23 years and I've never seen anything like that in the yard. It was a fairly strange sight to see.

Oops, forgot skunks, I have not seen one, but the dogs have.

BTW it seems getting sprayed did not bother them at all. Consider that when depending on Halt or the like.

Ducks, geese, misc. song birds. I saw an owl one time. I was on my back porch talking on the phone and I see this big thing swoop down and land in a tree about 10 feet away from me. My cat didn't like that. When I lived in S. GA we had a lot of deer and armadillos. I hate armadillos almost as much as I hate geese.
