Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was wondering if anyone had some good sugestions for any routes. I am looking for any distance 20-60 miles. I am getting back into cycling and my wife is just starting. She doens't like traffic very much. I just moved here (Norfolk) from Philly so I don't know the area. Norfolk has basicly nothing as far as traffic free roads and most of virginia beach that I have explored is packed with traffic. Any good sugestions for road routes that my wife will enjoy, i.e. not having to worry about a car hitting her? We already hit the dismal swamp canal. My plan was to try and drive out to the country for some rural road riding I just have no idea where the best place to do that is. Thanks,
Chris
Here is the site for the local bicycling club with rides at different areas. The rides freom fat frogs is out in pungo area which is light traffic in the country.

Start at the Dismal Swamp trail head and take some of those roads that jet off the trail. I've got some 30 mile routes mapped and its easy to get a 60-80 mile routes with minimal traffic. Shoot me a PM.
