been looking for a bikestand...

he says its an ultimate "basic" but i've never heard or seen a "basic" ultimate bike stand. i'm thinking something like a spindoctor pro g3? i just wanna get this right.

also, ultimate has that unique tripod with interlocking reinforced tubing... whereas the picture has parallel reinforced tubing

\\ can anyone help me id this stand? //

It looks like an Ultimate. It's what they used to call the Ultimate Consumer stand (as opposed to the Ultimate Pro). Same headstock as the Pro, just a bit lighter-weight tripod.

EDIT= Headstock is slightly different, I forgot: doesn't have the quick-slide clamp that the Pro had. Here it is on Ultimate's site:

Didn't it sell for just under 100$ too. I considered one for a while until Park came out with a cheapy.

If the clamping mechanism still works smoothly I'd say yes. It's a touch under half the price of new so that's about right. Oh, and it's a better stand than the Recreational that sells for $100 now.
