low/no float pedals

I need a recommendation for a set of pedals for my wife. Last time I asked this question on bentrider, I got a lot of stupid responses, so I thought I'd try here.

My wife needs pedals that are easy to get into from the recumbent position, and offer little float. Her knee problems are such that she needs a fixed range of motion for her knee, and the bebops are giving her too much leeways to strain her knee.

So easy in, easy out, and little float. She rides a V-rex. Suggestions?

Shimano clippless with built in platform pedal with the tension adjusted all the way down and multi release cleats.

Yeah, shimano (SPD) cleats have very little float, maybe 3 degrees.

The others have it.... I have the SPD with clip on one side and regular pedal on the other and they are wonderful. I am not a real bike 'enthusiast' so most (or maybe i better say some) of the time I start on the pedal side then when I am rolling, clip in. The jest is they are easy to clip into and as others have said, you can have very liitttle float if you want. ... ... ...peace

I went to Speedplay Zero pedals for my knees. For me I wanted maximum float. But these are adjustable and you can set the range of the float from 0 to the maximum.

I will admit they take some getting used to to lock in.

I don't know the model #, but get the double sided ones.

I've used SPD for a long time, but I don't consider them especially easy to get into, even the two-sided pedals. I always thought Look was easier to get into, because on a bent the pedals hang in the perfect position to stick your feet onto them. I think with Look you can get different cleats, either for lots of float of minimal float. The set I have, has minimal float.

Yep, Chris uses Time, which makes it hard for me to ride his bike. It's a takeoff on a Look, probably just enough to avoid patent infringement. I don't know how much float they have.

Crank Brothers eggbeaters have 6D of float, which is not
much, and enter from 4 directions. They come in platform
versions as well.

I ran Speedplay X-3s for a number of years (and did a ride in Zeros... same pedal, just adjustable float), tried Looks, and used SPDs on and off, but you can have my Time RSX Carbons when you pry them from my cold, dead... ok, you get the point.

The float is adjustable, and the clip out tension is fairly low, a factor I always look for. They have the benefit of SPDs (a bit of float, but nothing crazy like Speed Play, though the Zeros address this), with the plus of Speed Play (low clip out tension), but without surprise disengagements that sometimes comes with low clip out tension. Only downside is that they are single sided. Oh, and the walking cleat is ok...

Personally, I am VERY happy with my Time pedals.
