So I have a 99 Schwinn Peleton that I swapped out components on a newer road frame and I am considering building a fixed gear/single speed with it....I just have some basic questions to get me on the right path as far as components and such....My first question is with gearing...I am trying to find a good combination for a rather hilly place, I live in Colorado Springs....what is the easiest way to find the best gearing combination? Then, I am not sure if i should go with fixed gear or single speed, as I am not sure if I want to be able to coast or not.....I do think I want to go with brakes, should I run one or two? And where is the best place to start purchasing the fixed gear/single speed components I will need? Thanks in advance!!
