Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi, I am getting ready to plop down some hard earned cash for a Trek 520. It is the same heighth as my Trek 4300. I have always felt very cramped in my upper body on this bike. I do not feel like my arms are extended enough. From what I can gather on the 520 is that the top tube is pretty much the same, about 20". Does any other 520owners have any additional info? I do not have the luxury of riding one do to location. My LBS carries Trek but is not helpful. Any suggestions for an alternate would be great also. Trying to stay in the 700 and below, which means I'll probbly spend 800.00...grrrrrrrrr

Just get a longer stem. The stem is what attaches the fork to your handlebars. You can probably swap them out till you find one you like. At least most shops will allow this.
If you feel the frame is too small, then maybe you should go somwhere to get properly fitted. Just guessing wont help you if you have the wrong size.
