Northern California - Norcal Jersey.

Just curious anyone interested in something like this?

I actually designed a jersey for this little crew we had here on bf, it's on my old hardrive so I can't show it to you, but what do you think of the idea? I'm definitely capable of designing one.

I'm thinking we gotta do cal colors, navy and gold baybuh.

Well I just used that jersey as a reference, navy and gold. We'd have a completely different setup than the cal jersey.

Best to come up with several designs and then get opinions as to which is preferred. Then who is gonna make em and how much.

I'll download a template for a jersey and come up with a couple ideas, and let people tell me what to change.

It can be up to the viewer to decide, if you wish. As long as it's in a mug, they look the same.

umm.. this is a design for a mtb jersey. :rolleyes:

Doubt it they have the ugly blue and white now. :rolleyes: Much prefer their older version.

-1, At the TUC I met almost as many people from Southern Oregon as I did from the Bay Area. ;)

I sort of did a bunch of rough stuff in photoshop. Umm if you have any specific symbols you need to post them here, otherwise I have to find things myself.

Here's a blue and a goldish brown jersey.

Then I just went off on a tangeant, that's a california map with a roaring bear, but it's a dark orange so it's harder to notice.

Not too keen on any of those... I do like the SoCal kit though. I'd be up for a set if the NoCal one is a nice a design. Unfortunately I'm too left brained to think of a good design myself.

How'd the TUC go? After an April of injuries and the flu, I was in no shape to do it. Alas, another year gone...

I like the red and black colors for socal, but really all their jerseys have is a red star in the middle. Pretty plain for me...

Hey, that's lookin' kinda cool; I like the lettering better, too, but how about a variation on the theme by putting the bear face on the (upper)sleeves? And the outline of Cali still in the center...

Are we just limiting the discussion to design, or is the actual jersey up for discussion, also? If so, I have a preference for 3/4 zip, race cut.

On the lettering, could you do it NorCal (with the interior capital C)?

And if we're on the subject, I'd also go for 3/4 zip race cut.

If I may chime in also, as my closet colorist is dying to come out: yellow and blue would kinda clash with the black lycra bibs/shorts, no? I like the yellow, so maybe have the yellow as base/primary, and the blue as secondary? Or scrape the blue and go with, say, white?

I can assure you I'm really quite manly, and color-matching is the least of my manly concern!! :)

Yeah Im curious to see what black yellow may look like. The one problem with the SoCal jersey is its really hard to see when riding in our shaded redwood area's. I want to be visable on the road, even in the shade. Id also like to perhaps see the bear on the sleeve's, or perhaps a mountian range symbol.

When the design gets further along, be aware that you want the side-panel lettering to read right side up in the riding position. Currently it would be upside down.

Ah, so that's what the "nor*cal" stickers in the back windows of cars and trucks refer to. I could never figure out if it was a brand name of something (like the similarly used Independent logos), or if people were just really proud of living in the northern half of the state.

That said, why not eschew abbreviations altogether, and go with "Northern California"?

I like the black and yellow idea, I'll read over everyone's requests and come up with some other idears.
