Anyone else participate in the the international 'Ride of Silence' yesterday? 'RoS' is in memory of those cyclist killed/injured while riding.
We had a great response in Tucson, AZ; expected riders about 100 . . . reality: over 200!
Two police cars and 2 bike patrol officers saw to it that we made all the traffic light without stopping. Originally riding 2 abreast, but cops announced after a couple miles: "OK, take the whole lane" as we were strung way out for over 2 traffic lights in town.
Saw 4 tandems: a Counterpoint, C'dale, a Bike Twosday and one unidentified.
Every bike club in town had some members riding. Anything from Colnagos to trail-a-bikes to cruizers to 'bents.
As a surprise, there was free pizza for al after the event.
Hope you're "RoS' ride was as successfull as Tucson's!
