Electric Bikes - Electric Bike Breaks
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Are the brakes (V_BRAKES)? for the ebike enouth?
fo disc breaks needed?
V brakes are a plenty. They are what I use on my Giant XtraCycle combo. They are holding up well even under load, and I carry as much as 200 pounds of cargo on my bike.
so for same distance and dry sun no rainy
disc brake stop at same distance at v_brakes?
No, they (V's) don't work as well as disks in the wet.
Disk brakes do have more stopping power in more varied conditions than V's.
However there is noting intrinsic to electric bikes that demands that they have disks.

I put Shimano Deore LX vbrakes on my ebike when I built it about 18 months ago. They work very well. I have noticed that pads might be wearing more quickly than they would on a regular bike, but that's probably because of the higher speeds and more weight.
