I'm sure that the flies and gnats that I eat add protein to my diet, but they are really
annoying. Regular dust masks restrict breathing.

Do you have suggestions on keepings bugs out of the mouth and eyes?

Wear sunglasses...

Bugs are just air krill... good protein.

Good protein, yea that's it. :)

What's really annoying is when they fly right in your mouth and cause you to choke.

I haven't tried this but you could get some mosquito netting and make a hood out of it, and just make it big enough to cover your helmet (if you are a helmet-wearer). What I'm thinking is the sort of stuff that camping tent "windows" are made from. It'd look funny but it wouldn't restrict breathing and you wouldn't eat any more bugs.

I have wondered what would happen if a wasp or bee flew down your throat and stung you. That could be a serious situation. Anyone ever hear of this happening?

Not with the bee thing, but a few years ago I was out on a jog and a bug flew in my mouth and down my throat. Couldn't get it down, couldn't get it out. Ended up gagging and throwing up, I'll bet that looked good to the other people on the track at the time.

I use the paper "titty cups" i get from work when mountain biking around skeeters & other flying pests.
