Trying to buy one new. I know that I've gotten some good deals on from LBS right after xmas. Wondering if that also holds true for folders. Thanks

PS. would like a good quality one like a dahon, brompton. something light like under 25 lbs. Thanks, again.

You might get a good deal on a Dahon, since they change their lineup every year.

Most of the other folders, however, do not change. So chances are you won't necessarily get a deal on a Brompton in a shop, unless the owner is specifically trying to move some stock.

Check out the '06 Dahon models online. Some of the more reputable dealers will actually differentiate their stock beteen '06 and '07 models and give you a break (no pun intneded) on the older models. I personally went with www.brandscycle.com and got a good deal on an '06 Dahon.
Whenyou do order, make sure you ask about the year's model you're getting, since Dahon's do change color and style from year to year. Hope this helps

Brandscycle ripped me off. I would go with ThorUSA and bargain. Black Dog is the best discount bike dealer on the 'net (http://blackdogbicycles.com/birdyfoldingtravelbike.html) but they only deal Birdy and Reach.

It sounds like you need to do some research surrounding the bike you need before buying. There are a lot of bikes under 25 pounds, but they'll fold to different sizes and do very different things. Check out the wiki.
