I went from threaded (1") to Threadless (1 1/8") using an adaptor and a shim for my Ritchey stem and I'm not getting enough bite. I've checked nashbar.com and performance.com for shims and come up with nothing except for those that come with the stems (which is what I'm using).
Does anyone know if I can buy shims with walls of various thickness so that I can bet enough bite to secure the stem to the steertube adaptor? If yes, where can I find them?
Thanks!

I have noticed different company's threadless stem adapters do differ slightly in thickness and height. You may want to take your setup into an LBS and see if they have a selection for you to try.

I just got back from my LBS and they mentioned that my Ritchey WCS stem required an offset shim (which is what I THOUGHT it came with). Does anyone have knowledge of this?
Anyway, I'm going to try another inexpensive stem/shim set-up today and see if that works.
