I will be in staying in san fran for the next 5 days in the tenderloin area (going to a conference somewhere downtown) and am debating on flying my fixie with me for fun/transportation while I am there. Is it worth having the bike? I am used to some hills, but will those kill me?

My real question is the cost vs use of bringing out the bike. The airlines will charge me 65 each way to get out there, and i am staying only about a mile from the conference, but would love to see the rest/ and drink in the rest of the city. Would I be better off on public transport?

Plus schlubbing around on the bus sucks. You'll be happy on your bike, and really, it's worth any amount of money to get a chance to ride around SF for a week. Most people will never get the chance. Relish it.

Bring it. You'll kick yourself in the ass if you don't.
