Anyone else doing this ride on Sunday? I hear it's well organized and a lot of fun, info is here: http://www.soundcyclists.com/Bloomin.htm. The search function didn't bring up all that much history on it.

I'm shooting for the full 100km, but this will be my first ride over 30miles. It's also my first real group ride (with my local club), so I'm kinda nervous - but I'm really looking forward to it! Hopefully the weather clears up by then...

Has anyone here done this ride, or live in the area, and perhaps know a good place for breakfast that's open at 6:30am on a Sunday? :)

Two years ago the Bloomin' Metric and the Montauk Century fell on different weekends. Little did I know it would be years before I'd have the opportunity to do both rides again. Too bad because it looks like a nice ride and an easy hop form NYC. Maybe next year?

Both for me, I am doing the ride and live in your area. It's a great ride, done it for the last 3 yrs. Lots of ppl, police even stop traffic in some spots. Last year I did the 75k, might do the 100 this yr, depending on the weather.

Not so sure about spot for breakfast, however.
See ya there!!!

I will be riding the 100km. Not sure about breakfast since I am not familiar with the area. You probably don't want anything too heavy right before the ride. I am just going to do a CLif bar and a banana.

I will be riding a yellow Cannondale with black wheels.

hah! yea, i was pretty impressed at services/food available. the volunteers did an amazing job, imo. the sandwiches at the end were perfect! well, ok, the chocolate i had stashed in my car was better, but the sandwiches really did hit the spot :)

Hey slynkie, it was nice meeting you. Glad you had a good time. My ride was great, loves the scenery and rolling hills.

This is a very well organized tour. The direction is clearly marked, I never have to look at the route sheet. My only pet peeves is that i stand in cold windy rain for half and hour so I can check in. I was pre-registered!
