60th birthday in less than 3 weeks, was planning on doing this then but what a Day!!!! Sunny, upper 50's when started, got to about mid 60's was planning on doing a metric C, but at mile 50 I was averaging 15.1 so i decided to go for it. Did 102 total, 100 was 6:47. Lots of hills and the WIND was 10 mph steady NNE. I'll take the hills over the wind. No flats, no near misses, folks were friendly, Life is Good.
I think I gained weight, 60 fluid oz. water + 20 Oz Gatoraid (hate that stuff) + 20 Oz Coffee (12 + 8) plus 1 plain hamburger, 2 big cookies, plus 2 small candy bars. Plus a Beer while relaxing in the tub.
HR max=172 , avg=139, zone (139-170)=4:52, calories burned = 5,773 according to my polar F6.
Again, Ain't life Grand. Puts me at 992.8 miles for the year.
This is my 4th Century. I'll try a metric on my birthday. :) :)

I played golf. I nearly had a stroke for every mile you rode!

I noticed you're a Kentucky feller. I'm in Louisville. Where do you like to ride? I'm looking to work up to a century (OKHT?) this September.

Nice job and nice stats. You can compare them on your next century, AND THERE WILL BE MORE. You are hooked. It appears you did it solo, which is also special. No pictures? No pie?

Congrats on your century, hitting those little milestones in life feels good.
I started out to do a metric century and got in 70 miles, the reason I'm happy is that at the end I didn't feel totally exhausted or sore. I took 5 1/2 hours counting all my stops. The weather here in Seattle area was great for a ride.

Since you've done 4 centuries this year, maybe you should set a new standard and ride double your age for the 60th. I'm betting you've got it in you, if the inspiration is there. Again congrats on the century, it's quite a feat at our age.

I don't understand, Red Baron. After all that exercise, and 5,800 calories burned, what makes you think you gained weight?

Great ride! I just hope I'm able to do that when I'm 60!! Good for you for taking on the longer distance when you had a choice as well. You are the man!
Baron - Excellent job! On the recently acquired Fly?;)
