I have recently started cycling a beautiful new tandem (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=297799). It has DaVinci Independent Coasting System (http://www.davincitandems.com/dv2.html) allowing captain and stoker to have increased flexibility. The front chainrings come from Shimano 7 speed set up and there rear ten chainrings are from a 10 speed set up. As a result the SRAM 10 speed road chain is being sucked up and jamming the front chainrings as it is not wide enough to accomodate the teeth. On one occasion I had difficulty getting a single link off a tooth as they were so jammed!
Is there a simple solution to this problem?
Is there a database matching chains to particular chainring sets? Is there a resource documenting chain inner width and another with chainring width? I couldn't find this information after a arduous search on the web. Even the manufacturers sites often don't specify these dimensions in their sales blurb.
