so the other night in a rampage i decided to take all the paint off my road bike with a wire wheel and didn't want to take all the parts off. needless to say i accidentally cut my rear derailleur cable. it is a shimano 105 downtube shifter to a shimano 600 derailleur for a 600 7 speed hub. Now i'm kind of sure i know how to adjust the derailleur but how do i know how tight the cable needs to be or if i need to worry about that at all.
Thanks.

The reason the i took the paint off is because the entire bike is chromed. i forgot to say that in the begining. also i can be kind of stupid when working on my bikes. Real stupid

Didn't you think a wire wheel might damage the chrome?
