Can anyone here refer me to a 1018 steel bicycle?

If not, any other steel (be very specific).

Any of the steel bikes at Wallmart.

1018 is just plain carbon steel. It would be found on only the cheapest bikes.

1018 is barely steel at all, with an almost useless .18% carbon content. It may as well be considered normal iron.

Actually at work we use this 1018 all the time for machine, tool and equipment building (I cut raw stock for the machine and weld shops at work). But our stuff doesn't have to be light!

Wrong.

Anything over 0.06% will harden a little....

Reynolds 853 and Columbus tubings have about the same carbon content...



But yes, it's not really a tubing for a steel frame. Alloyed steels are alloyed for a reason, and they are what you want in frames....
