Bicycle Mechanics - I, uh, I can't install a road clincher...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I bought some Vittorias packed folded in little boxes; out of the box these tires are "flat", ie. they don't have that C profile. This is a first for me! I can't install them the way I'm accustomed to, ie. by putting a slightly filled inner tube inside the tire and slipping them on the rim together, since the tire has no "inside" that could hold the inner tube. How does one install this kind of tires?

just lay the tube on the inside of the tire, and kinda fold the tire around the tube until it looks just like the others you have used......
I always just mount one side of the tire (so it's half on and half off), stuff a slightly inflated tube in there as best I can, and then wrestle the other side of the tire on. Once you get the second side started, it'll stay on.
Thanks, that made it a breeze!

+1 install one side of tire on rim first. add tube. install other side.
