I received this from a Bike/Ped advocate friend and thought I'd pass it on.

It would be nice for him to back up what he says, start giving commuters a tax break!

BTW, Nice site Ron... http://www.theanti-drug.com/sharing_listening/kids.html

"Car User Tells Kids It Will Destroy Your Life
I've been driving for 20 years. I wish I never started. It destroys your body little by little. If you're a kid and reading this, start learning how to live car-free now, you'll thank me later. " :)

What a great site, although totally bogus. The real site is http://www.theantidrug.com , although I like the one RonH posted better!

Doh, I looked at it for 30 secconds... in the disclaimer:

"The theanti-drug.com is a satirical Website
The theanti-drug.com uses invented names in all its stories, except in cases when public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental." :)

Satirical or not, there is truth to this. I cannot drive for more than hour without feeling fatigued. It's a different kind of fatigue to riding. Driving leaves me drained mentally and lethargic physically. Riding leaves me with that glow-in-the-legs feeling and either emotional energy to do something else... or go have a sleep!

Yup - me too until I read the quote on the first page"

"If you quit driving, you join the fight against terror in America"
- President George W Bush

I knew it was satire for sure then!
