I've just found this forum but what I've read so far has already impressed me.

Next month I will be 42 years old. Two years ago, after having been off of a bicycle since my school years, I bought my first entry level mountain bike. I was instantly hooked on cycling and 6 months later I bought a much more expensive full suspension mountain bike. For a while I even competed in some of the local xc races.

Last August I bought my first road bike, a Litespeed, and have since become even more addicted to bicycling. In less than a year I have put over 3000 miles on it!

Last week I rode my Litespeed 460 miles in a 7-day, cross-state bicycle ride with about 1500 other cyclist. I also did my first century (100 miles NOT kilometers) last Friday!

Prior to getting serious about becoming more healthy and getting into bicycling I was obese and sedentary. Since loosing a considerable amount of weight and becoming more physically active I have felt better than I have in the past 20 years.

Cycling has also been the best thing I've found for dealing with stress. I can have a very bad day at the office but my troubles seem to melt away when I get on my bike!

My cycling friends have nicknamed me Krispy because of my admitted weakness for donuts. That's OK though, it helps to remind me that it's OK to occasionally eat junk food as long as I burn off the calories while riding my bike!
