So I was offered a set of used velocity wheels with supposedly formula flip/flop hubs for $150. They said the wheels have about 50 miles on them, so they are pretty new. Do you think this is worth it?

Which rims are they? Do they suit your needs (i.e. machined sidewalls vs. non-machined sidewalls)?

that's not bad. I think you can get a miche wheelset for just a little more though.

50 miles is nothing. Find out what hubs/rims they are. Deep-V wheel sets even with ****ty hubs go for 250-300+

There are formula / deep V handbuilt wheelsets all over ebay right now for $220-250.

It ends up they are velocity razor wheels. Does anybody know anything about this model? The rims are machined on the braking surface.

i ride these. they are not deep v's by any means. solid rims, but definitely not a steal at the price you're quoting.

thanks for the info. I think I'm going to opt against them. They ended up being black with silver spokes, anyway, and I was looking for something all black.
