Weirdest thing happened to me the past couple of days. My left elbow became very swollen, red, and generated so much heat I could have ironed clothes with it. Just the left elbow. It was so tender that just putting on a shirt and having the cloth run over it would be painful.
It was on the outside part, around the joint. I mean this baby got huge. I tried to ride yesterday but hitting the slightest bump would hurt so much that after about 10 miles I gave up and came back home.
The swelling is down considerably this morning, but it's still hot to the touch and tender. I think it's getting better.
Very weird.
So, this weekend I lived vicariously through everyone else. Thanks for the posts on your rides.
That happened to me once, or I though I bumped it, and the next day it was gone, go figure, never happened again.

I have a pile of ironing you could do...

My elbow story is far too long to relate here but suffice to say it goes back to my drinking days and a bar stool and a tile floor. Bone chip in the joint. This was the most painful thing ever. Finally it was dissolved with an ultrasonic device and good since.

Insect bite perhaps???
That was my thought, too. I've had a spider bite and the reaction was very similar.

It's much better today. Very well could have been an insect bite. I had a bump there. Still real hot, but at least it doesn't look like I have a tennis ball on my elbow joint, and only a little red.

Insect bites can be pretty bad. Remember Jonathan Vaughters' bee sting in the 2001 Tour de France?
